Georgia Tax Law Change Means You Can Lease For Less

Georgia Residents: Get Lowest Lease Payments Ever

The time for Georgia residents to lease a new car from Crown Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Chattanooga is now.

Why?

Because Georgia tax laws for leasing vehicles changed on January 1, 2018. According to House Bill (HB) 340, leased vehicles will no longer be taxed on the full value of a vehicle. Instead the Title Ad Valorem Tax will be calculated by multiplying the tax rate by the "total base payments pursuant to the lease agreement."

The Georgia Department of Revenue has approved the new rules and regulations. The change now means that the Title Ad Valorem Tax for leased vehicles is calculated by multiplying the tax rate by the total number of base payments, including down payments pursuant to the lease agreement.
