Performance
Powering the 2016 RAM 1500 Rebel is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, which delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. With such numbers, you’ll never have to worry about acceleration or switching from one lane to the other in an untimely or efficient manner. Hooked up to the engine is an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, which is electronically controlled for smooth performance. With its powertrain configuration, the Rebel can achieve a maximum towing capacity of up to 10,640 pounds. Fuel economy is estimated at 15 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 23 mpg on the highway*.
Interior
With its crew cab body style, the 2016 RAM 1500 Rebel can accommodate up to five adult occupants. Front seating consists of a ten-way power-adjustable driver seat and a six-way power adjustable front passenger seat, both of which have heating capability. The rear seats can be folded down to increase cargo space, which can prove helpful when you have a huge construction project or need to go on a road trip. Also standard on the Rebel version of the 2016 RAM 1500 is a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel.
Features
For entertainment, the 2016 RAM 1500 Rebel has a six-speaker stereo system, which includes a one-year Sirius XM satellite radio subscription, Bluetooth for audio streaming and hands-free phone calls, auxiliary and USB inputs for mobile devices, steering wheel-mounted controls, and a 5-inch color touchscreen display. There’s always the option of adding navigation with 8.4-inch color touchscreen display, Uconnect Access connectivity, and single-disc CD player, in addition to a power moonroof, rearview camera, and dual-zone automatic temperature control. Outside, the Rebel truck has features like automatic bi-function projector black headlamps, LED fog lamps, sport-style taillights, dual exhaust system, and power heated mirrors with manual fold-away capability.
Safety
For protection in an auto collision, the 2016 RAM 1500 Rebel comes with dual front impact airbags, dual side impact airbags, and dual side curtain airbags. Also standard on the truck are electronic stability control system for enforcing control when driving on slippery road surfaces and four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system (ABS) for shortening stopping distance and preventing wheel lock-up. To keep thieves away from such a formidable vehicle, the Rebel RAM is equipped with an anti-theft system with remote keyless panic system and engine immobilizer. To enhance such a system, you can add Keyless Enter ‘N Go, which enables you to unlock the truck when the key fob is in close proximity by touching one of the front-row door handles.
