2016 Dodge Charger
Serving Chattanooga, Ringgold, East Ridge, Hixson, TN
On the one hand, the 2016 Dodge Charger is a sedan that any family could find a home in. On the other, it is a performance machine with the muscle power of its brother, the Challenger. It is truly rare to find these two aspects together at such a pleasing price.
The 2016 Dodge Charger has a contemporary design that, nonetheless, reflects the muscle car styling of the Sixties. Aerodynamic lines look good on this body, and these nips and tucks let it slip through the wind, making the most of its high horsepower engines.

Performance
Every Charger has an eight-speed automatic for gear-shifting. Although all-wheel drive is available on V-6 editions, the standard rear-wheel drive ensures racier handling to match the racier engine output. The 3.6-liter V6 cranks out 292 horsepower, but it still earns 31 mpg highway. The Rallye Group kicks horsepower up to 300 and adds more torque. Two R/T editions feature a 370-horsepower V-8 that kicks out 395 lb.-ft. The R/T Scat Pack and SRT 392 editions have a V-8 that is capable of 485 horsepower with 475 lb.ft. At the top of the lineup, there’s the supercharged SRT Hellcat. This remarkable V-8 delivers 708 horsepower with 650 lb.ft. The Hellcat can make the zero-sixty mph sprint in 4.1 seconds.
Interior
Even with its emphasis on speed, the Charger offers a strong value in its cabin materials, comforts, and design. As auto reviewer Edmunds notes, these qualities are strengthened by more amenities for the money as well as the hushed cabin and the car’s absorbent ride. The SE offers a long list of standards including a 60/40 split rear seat, a tilt-telescopic steering wheel, and push button start. The SXT has heated front seats, a driver’s power chair, and programmable climate controls. Packages and higher editions add leather seats, a front passenger’s power chair, front seat-ventilators, a heated steering wheel, second-row heated seats, and power-adjusting pedals.
Features
Basic SE standards includes a 5-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth streaming audio, two inputs, and two charging ports. The SXT adds the 8.4-inch UConnect touchscreen with voice commands and app integration. The new drag-and-drop menu makes it even easier to use. New features include a do-not-disturb feature that allows the driver to block phone calls and texting while driving. The system can answer with a simple message, assuring the contact that the driver will respond when conditions are safer. Siri Eyes Free adds more voice capability and more interactive options. The rearview camera and navigation add real-time information.
Safety
With seven airbags on board, the Dodge Charger puts an emphasis on injury prevention. UConnect adds emergency assistance notification. For crash avoidance, the Charger offers emergency brake assist. The system will apply the brakes harder when the driver is responding to a forward collision alert. The lane watch has its own assist system to reduce the chances of a side swipe. Also reducing side swiping accidents, the blind spot monitor watches the rear flanks for oncoming traffic. The rear-cross traffic alert does the same when the Charger is in reverse.
